About Department & Symposium

The Department of Chemical Engineering from its inception at CBIT in 1995 has gained recognition and prominence. The department is the most sought in the self financed institutions offering Chemical Engineering in the state. The trained students acquired excellent placements or joined PG courses in India as well as in other countries such as USA, U.K , Germany and Australia.

     The department is well equipped with undergraduate laboratories and infrastructure. The department conducts National level Seminars and In-house workshops to cater to the overall personality, regularly. IIChE students chapter of the CBIT  was adjudged as Best Students Chapter in the year 2001.

     The Chemical Engineering Association and IIChE Students Chapter organize extra curricular and co curricular activities to the students and staff, every year.

     The department was accredited by NBA for 3 years in 2004 and successively accredited for 3 more years from 2008.

This national  level technical event, serves as a platform for  not only  chemical engineering but all  allied discipline students to present their work and interact with peer community.

  The Chemical Engineering field envisages tremendous technology upgrades in different sectors.

This event is an endeavor to educate on such technologies through paper and poster presentations, technical quiz and other related events.
